Monday Night Football, Buffalo Bills vs. New England Patriots
Line: Patriots – 11
Over / Under: 46
Tom Brady is back as Patriots starting quarterback after missing all of 2008, creating high expectations for the 2009 season. In betrepublic, New England is the odds favorite to win the Super Bowl.
Bet Republic does not have the Patriots as their Super Bowl Pick (check all NFL predictions for this season), but we fully understand why many have chosen as their selection to win it all.
Head coach Pats' Bill Belichick has charged the two sides of the ball. The defense lost six starters from last year, including Tedy Bruschi, Junior Seau, Rodney Harrison Ellis Hobbs, Mike Vrable and more recently Richard Seymour. The defense is younger and faster, but lacks experience and leadership.
Offends New England has all the pieces in place to dominate every game they play this upcoming season. The offense that has terrorized the league in 2007, most of his players, whose broad back tandem deadly receiving Randy Moss and Wes Welker. Belichick said the savvy veteran RB Fred Taylor, WR Joey Galloway and TE Chris Baker team to give the Patriots the firepower and versatility. The big question is how to distribute the ball to everyone so that everyone feels involved.
The offensive chief concern is whether Tom Brady and his surgically repaired knee holds up all season. Defensive Coordinator will be looking to rush Brady as possible to test its mobility. If the offensive line gave Brady the time it takes then that these figures could be ridiculous.

The Bills have the makings of a strong defense and passing Aaron Rushere Schobel and rookie Aaron Maybin will apply pressure off the edge to try to disrupt the timing of Brady. DT Marcus Stroud has played in his first year with invoices and claims of a double team most of the time. Linebackers Kawika Mitchell and Paul Posluszny are very active and sure tacklers. The secondary is young but very skilled with cornerback Leodis McKelvin and safeties Donte Whitner and Ko Simpson. The Buffalo defense will play without fault and aggressive to keep its offensive in the game.
Attack of the Bills' fell off the beaten last season after QB Trent Edwards was concussed in the fifth game against the Cardinals. It was not as strong as it was in the first four games and looked tentative which led to many undecided and poor execution. The lack of offense forced to stretch the bills to make one of the boldest offseason moves acquisition controversial wide receiver Terrell Owens.
Everyone knows what can bring to Owens bills on the ground, but the off-field antics that are the concern. So far, there has been a model of diplomacy, but if bills weaken all eyes will be watching collapse Owens. His addition should give number one WR Lee Evans two teams, which should lead to a career year for Evans. The two disagreed not set in pre-season so it is difficult to determine how productive they will be receiving tandem.
Starting current, Marshawn Lynch is suspended by the league for the first three games which means that Fred Jackson will start in his place. Jackson ran for 136 yards on 26 carries in the second game against New England last season so he should feel comfortable going up against the Pats defense.
The Bills fired their coordinator offensive last week, so it will be interesting to see how in sync this unit will perform. The offensive line is the biggest question mark on team and it could be a long night.
The defense of New England is led by NT Vince Wilfork advance which commands a double team group giving new look of the New England linebackers opportunities to make games. Last season Defensive Rookie of the Year Jerod Mayo is the Changing Face of Defense and is a hit machine. The Bills will look to exploit the defense of young and Lee Evans could have a great evening.
We believe that the Patriots start with a convincing win and look good to cover the pointspread.
