Scam Watch – Fatal Photo Shoots
In 1992, 21, model Kimberly Pandelios told her husband she was meeting with a photographer. But the man who was led to believe he was a photographer was actually a registered sex offender who lured Pandelios in the Angeles National Forest where he sexually assaulted and killed her.
Kimberly was probably just as many young models budding. It was beautiful, dynamic and willing to take on the world. She had few swimwear modeling success and lingerie, when she discovered a model-wanted ad in a local weekly newspaper. She had hoped the occasion would help her to make some progress in his career. In Instead, she had a tragic end.
Unfortunately, this story is not a rare one. And it happens not only to new models. Linda Sobek, a former leader Raiders and Playboy model has experienced a similar fate when she left home to attend a photo session. In his case, the photographer who killed, was at the time that the renowned photographer who had indeed amassed a small fortune and some fame and that work is published in Many car magazines.
We often discuss the growing number of Internet fraud aimed constantly aspiring models, but a member of Star Search Casting recently discussed the importance of staying aware of the danger that models face in the real world too. Each day, reach out to models who aspire to the street, in shops, or through newspapers or online ads with legitimate offers. Ask for references to photographers, agents or other professionals before agreeing to work with them.

Take a friend or family member with you for photo shoots and meetings with agents, photographers and other professionals sector, especially if you have not worked with them in the past and you do not get the job with a reputable agency.

Be careful to apply to blind ads in newspapers or online. If you choose to apply to these ads, be sure to research extensively the agency or photographer you'll be meeting with.

And last but not least, always go with your instincts. Intuition is one of the most powerful resources you have to protect yourself against dangerous situations. Therefore do not become involved in a project or organization if you have a bad feeling about this.
