Why are not these guys being traded?
I see here that Edgerrin James was just cut by the maps and also Larry Foote is cut by the Steelers. And just for the sake of argument, I can throw into the mix too. Why do teams just cut the player? Why do not try to trade for a 7th round pick Mr. Irrelevant type and at least get something for him. I mean really, the trade for a cheeseburger and at least you get a cheeseburger out. Is there a reason why it's best to just get up and cut these guys that other teams will have at least some interest?
Well, in one case TO has had negotiated for him because nobody would have wanted to collect his salary. I'm pretty sure that market signed with the Bills was a 4 or 5 million dollars less good when his contract with the Cowboys would have paid. I can imagine the same is true for Edge. The other thing is its not worth the Hastle. With UDFA is available and like everything it could take some time to market some of these guys materialize. And thats how much time you have, if you need space for the CAP now. We are also curtousy thereof. You do not want so the guy with the strength of a new team in his throat. Let him choose his own team, if you are 100% sure you do not want it any way.
