Dallas Cowboys Week 1 Game Analysis
The game started well. A short kick-off has been penned by Kyle Brady, who was unable to make 18 where Al Singleton wrapped up.
Our defense have trouble the first couple of drives. Canty ate up Khalif Barnes. He became penetration on each piece of execution.
Pat Watkins made some nice tackles in the open field. He also appeared solid in coverage, it does not blow all mandates in any way. It does not make big plays, but all we need back there is a whirlwind of balance that makes a game here and there, but mainly to avoid errors.
Kevin Burnett has made a great play covering RB Maurice Drew. It was all over him, reaching around to knock the ball away without intervention. This ended the first drive of Jacksonville.
First part of Dallas, the offense was a slope 12 yards to Owens. He abused Rashean Mathis in the 1st quarter. He had a magnificent game and I have no doubt he is the same player he was two years ago. The entire first disc was a perfect image. It ended in a 23-yard Julius was opened by Anthony Fasano big block on Mike Peterson.
Accuracy Drew Bledsoe was great in the first disc. He hit all the open receivers. I think got hurt at some point, because you do not start guys for lack of good reason half way through the game. He warming on margin was also a sign. The interception three years, he simply threw too much to overcome. He was lucky he throws no more though, as about three or four others have been abandoned by players Jags' or inverted on a reversed INT I thought was really one.
Julius Jones and the long stalemate that was decent considering the competition. They do a good job of breaking two-run major necessary a good game running. Running against a front Seven Man is crucial. The Jaguars had both safeties 14 yards off the line, and we must make teams pay for that with our game execution. We actually averaged four yards a carry on playing, but it was 22 concerns that if the combination of two runs for 40 yards.
I can say I am quite disappointed with the playcalling. We have virtually abandoned the party During the 2nd semester. I know it was hard sledding, but I saw that we stick to the race with earnings less than we received yesterday. Running the ball was a good idea since Bledsoe started struggling as was the pass protection.
Dallas had an interesting way to Jaguars face the three-receiver sets. Instead of staying stubbornly in defense of their base or in bad mood into the nickel, the Cowboys have played a 3-4 with three corners and one safety deep. This defense seems quite effective when used.
The secondary has been Aggressive Youth Part. Henry Newman, and Williams were all actively trying to jump routes. They seemed to get a little shell shocked in the 2nd half because they could not take a break. Byron Leftwich has been taken perfect pass that corner could not do much.
Jamaica Rector looked okay as return specialist punts. He did not break good, but he did not muff and seemed to be fast enough. It will a decent returner, but this guy is not in Dante Hall.
Julius Jones caught a bomb from 39 yards to Bledsoe when CB Brian Williams was caught looking inside to Terry Glenn.
Conditioning Flozell Adams does not seem to be very good. He played all right in the 1st half, but by the 4th quarter he frequently received beaten by Paul Spicer. This seemed the theme of the entire offensive line. They held their own time, but some struggled to finish.
Marc Colombo did a great job on Reggie Hayward. It contains about him until Reggie tore his Achilles tendon.
Penalties killed Dallas on Sunday. Several personal fouls kept drives alive Jacksonville for three penalties offset the gains in wholesale by Terrell Owens throughout the game. A push out Jason Witten called a TD would be kept away from Dallas. This call was correct, but was certainly not worse than non-use touchdown catch Reggie Williams, where he basically threw Anthony Henry to the ground.
The bag isolated from the day for the Cowboys has been credited to Jay Ratliff, Jason Hatcher, but was the guy who first learned to Leftwich. The scramble crossing was not horrible, but it was too erratic in some sections considered satisfactory.
Matt McBriar had a great day. He two punts of sixty feet or more. One of them was a line drive, which really tested the coverage of our team who passed with flying colors.
Jason Ferguson had a good game. He clogged the middle well. He was the only guy to play the nose in the 3-4. We need a capable backup, but it is not too big of a deal because I am, guess it still only played about 65% of snaps on defense which is not ideal, but not so bad.
Demarcus Ware definitely progressing as a cap on Run. He did not have much pressure, but it has an excellent job stopping the run. His playing gives crime a big problem. Our front seven is too big to run right is the area that can be a weakness in a 3-5. However, in a 3-4 your OLBs are larger than 4-3, which means it is difficult to get the corner, if these guys to work solid support enforcement.
Marion Barber did not play much in this game. He had three carries for 13 yards. It was converted 4th one critical play with the help of Terrell Owens on an outside run.
Marco Rivera struggled a bit. He got bull rushed on a sack by Rob Meier. He also struggled to make key blocks on linebackers played Run.
Roy Williams had the right to intercept pleasant apparent after a decision has been canceled. Greg Ellis had a lot of pressure on this play and rushed Leftwich in error. This pressure was nowhere to be found in the latter right, however. Only a few plays later Bledsoe gave the ball with his first INT of the game. It is more a Savy play by the angle than anything else.
Matt Jones has been the ruin for the Cowboys. They had no answer to size. It has never been wide open, but Leftwich was on fire and they always seem to find a way to connect.
The defense was disappointed in the 2nd half. They have quite crumbled. The offense did not help them out, but they never forced sales or does something that could turn the game in our favor.
Shaun Suisham left much to be desired after he missed 36-yard Field Goal. I did not expect to make 55 yards, but you must make shorter. His kick-offs were great, but you can not missed from 36 yards in a close game. Miss This confirms my belief that Suisham is not a good kicker. Each field goal he made in pre-season just good. We're screwed if Vanderjagt can not find his stroke
Kosi Kyle had a big block on 17 yard Jones' run in the 3rd quarter. He drew wide left and sealed off the corner to Jones. Terry Glenn also had a big block on this play.
Even after the defense wilted en route to a deficit of 24-10, the offense would not die. Terrry Glenn remained somewhat in the open courtyard and depth took a 51 pass to Bledsoe. Owens followed this with an incredible catch on the wrong shoulder for a touchdown.
The TD was followed by an attempt to Onside kick. It was a bad decision. There were almost two minutes left in the game. We had two timeouts. Suisham attempt was horrible. He did not even it 10 yards and it went well in the hand of a Jags player. The defense has not allowed a 1st down, but the field position after a punt was too overcome.
In the absence of waiting times and less than a minute, Bledsoe was forced to make ill-advised throws that ultimately led to the game ending interception.
