What charges could be brought up for selling fake autographs?
I bought a Wayne Gretzky signed puck that was “gauranteed to pass” by the guy who sold it to me. Well it has failed two different tests from JSA and PSA (authenticating companies) costing me an additional 53 dollars.
I have called the guy and he says he will issue me a refund of the purchase price but not the fees. I want to threaten to get the police involved and I am wondering what would likely happen if I do?
Can I get him on fraud?
thanks
It is in the same state and it was purchased at a sports show.
says he got it in person
It is a fraud, however, you may have difficulty getting an agency to investigate, based on low monetary value. If you can document wide-spread advertising and marketing, it would probably get investigated. The other problem is that this person may be in another jurisdiction, interstate commerce violations would indicate FBI jurisdiction.
